Went to the Rufus Wainwright concert at the Phil last night. Amazing. Not holding back at all, giving it all, thumping out the songs with a band of the most extraordinary musicians - who then transformed themselves into dancers for a glorious Judy Garland Forget your troubles come on be happy tribute number! With Rufus himself in high heels and tights!

A wonderful night. I'm still smiling and will be smiling for weeks.

And he - Rufus - is in one of the films we're showing during the fest: FOLLOW MY VOICE: WITH THE MUSIC OF HEDWIG on Friday 26th October at 8.30pm at FACT in Liverpool - in which he sings one of the songs from John Cameron Mitchell's Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
